Information
Nicki Wynnychuk was born in Canada, grew up in New Zealand & has recently lived in France, Spain & now Australia.
Wynnychuk’s practice is based on the recuperation of fragile banal and familiar objects, with intent to transform, translate and reassemble the material into small monuments that have a freshness and precariousness so that the material is imbued with a new energy.
This process continues an investigation into theorist Herfried Munkler's concept of a post-heroic society. Munkler’s post-heroic is a bottom-up transformation fueled by shared power and community building, where leaders must learn to change the nature of power and how it is employed.
